How does it work?

Choose a donation amount
Choose any amount to gift as a donation, and write a special Christmas message for your child or friend.
Give the voucher to your friend
We’ll email you a personalised voucher telling your child or friend about your donation. Just print it out to give in a card or package, or email it straight on.
Your friend chooses a cause
Your child or friend can choose a cause they love from the GenKind website and make the donation. They’ll get a certificate for their kindness.
You’re in the GenKind Club
You and your child or friend join the amazing GenKind Club - a community of kids saving the world! You’ll receive a monthly e-mag plus discounts in our store.

We want to help teach our children about generosity and kindness. And empower them to feel like they can change the world with their friends.
Questions we get asked
This is a new idea, so we are sure you have some questions! Here are some we get asked a lot - but please get in touch if you can’t find the answer you are looking for.

Children surprise us everyday. And more than you think would love to do something impactful - with their friends.
We have carefully selected causes which appeal to children, and created content on our ‘Kids’ page to get them excited and engaged.
They also become part of the GenKind Club, laced with kudos and some extra ‘stuff’ (which passes our planet-saving test)

A lot of what holds people back from trying GenKind is that they feel like kids still really want presents for their birthday. And this is totally true. Kids love gifts. And GenKind is not about making them sacrifice all their special birthday treats. They should still receive presents and indulge in surprises and do all the fun stuff that make birthdays amazing.
What GenKind wants to encourage kids to do is exchange some of their birthday presents for a meaningful donation to a cause they care about. If we’re being honest, birthday party gifts aren’t usually the best ones. They are usually torn open quickly, and more often than not, forgotten about quickly (or put in the cupboard to be regifted at a later date. We’ve all been there).
Imagine a world in which you can empower a friend to do something meaningful and impactful. Where they learn about an animal or a community or a country that needs our help - and that they can actually help. That is joy right there.
That feeling that being small doesn’t mean being powerless.

Absolutely not. There is no minimum or maximum amount of money you can donate.
Every little helps when it comes to supporting these causes and GenKind ensures that every amount is recognised and celebrated.

No problem! They can either pool their donation vouchers to one charity - or split them across multiple causes! We also won’t let more than one guest purchase anything from our store which has already been bought by another guest : )

You don’t have to take anything… we will send an email either to you or your friend with all the details of your GenKind Gift.
BUT if you would still like to take something, we have some options. We can email you the gift card so that you can print it out at home and include it in a birthday card.
Plus you could choose something from our store as an additional gift - if you have enough time for us to send it you.
