Coral Reef Conservation with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation

The Great Barrier Reef has suffered the worst summer on record, enduring cyclones, severe flooding, crowns-of-thorns starfish outbreaks and a mass coral bleaching event.

The Great Barrier Reef is a unique ecosystem; home to thousands of species of marine life, including fish, whales, dolphins, and six of the world’s seven species of marine turtle. But she is fighting for her life - and needs our help.

Do you know fish-loving little one? Gift them a GenKind donation for their birthday and help them create lasting impact for our life-supporting reef.

The Great Barrier Reef Foundation is GenKind’s charity partner for ocean conservation

The Great Barrier Reef Foundation is creating a future for the world’s coral reefs by protecting ocean habitats, restoring coral reefs and helping them adapt to the impacts of climate change.

They raise funds, invest in innovative ideas and design real-world, scalable conservation programs that are delivering breakthroughs in marine and terrestrial restoration.

They are solving the most complex and challenging problems facing the survival of the Great Barrier Reef, and work closely with more than 500 passionate partners who are dedicated to creating a better future for coral reefs and their marine life.

How GBRF helps

  • Coral reefs are the beating heart of our oceans. They provide nurseries and food for a quarter of all marine life and sustain a billion people worldwide.

Warmer temperatures are triggering mass coral bleaching events, disrupting food supplies and threatening entire ecosystems. This doesn't need to be our future.

  • The 1,050 islands and 2,300km of coastal wetland ecosystems along the Great Barrier Reef support some of the highest biodiversity on the planet and store carbon up to 50 times more efficiently than tropical rainforests.

Climate change and biodiversity loss are having a devastating impact on the health of coral reefs. Together we can restore these habitats to ensure our Reef's future is vibrant and full of life.
