Save our Sea Turtles

Protecting Marine Turtles with SEE Turtles

Sea turtles face a number of threats including poaching, habitat destruction, climate change, and harmful commercial fishing practices.

But hope is not lost. We can all help to ensure that these beautiful creatures continue to to thrive.

Do you know a turtle-loving little one? Gift them a GenKind donation for their birthday and help them create lasting impact for these magnificent creatures.

Sea turtles have been around for 110 million years. Yet, all of the 7 sea turtle species alive today are threatened with extinction.

SEE Turtles is GenKind’s charity partner for Turtle conservation

SEE Turtles helps turtles and communities by inspiring people to get active in conservation efforts.

They help coastal communities save millions of hatchlings on nesting beaches, clean up thousands of pounds of plastic, reduce the illegal turtle trade, and educate millions of people about these incredible animals.

Since their founding, SEE Turtles has raised more than $1 million for sea turtle conservation efforts and saved over 4 million hatchlings.

  • We support sea turtle conservation organizations that work to protect sea turtle hatchlings on beaches worldwide. These funds pay local residents to patrol important nesting beaches, ensuring that the eggs are protected and the hatchlings reach the ocean. On average, we have helped save 10 hatchlings for every $1 donated.

  • Hawksbill sea turtles are one of the most beautiful and important species in the ocean. They help coral reefs thrive by eating sponges and are a thrill for divers and snorkelers to see in the wild. But they have been hunted to the edge of extinction for their colourful shell.

Some trips involve volunteering while others are more educational, but every trip is a unique adventure. Profits from every trip save at least 500 hatchlings for every participant through the Billion Baby Turtles program!

They also use their channels to advocate for less plastic use - encouraging people to reduce plastic waste while advocating for governments and businesses to take strong actions to reduce the creation of plastic in the first place.
