Let's Beat Plastic Pollution

5 everyday actions to reduce our plastic use

Did you know that our oceans are in trouble? There's something called ‘plastic pollution’ that's making our underwater friends sad. But don't worry, because we can be superheroes and save the day!

By doing these 5 simple things every day, you can help protect our oceans and the amazing creatures that live in them. Together, we can make a big splash in the fight against plastic pollution!

  1. Say No to Plastic Straws

When you're at a restaurant or getting a drink, ask for no straw or use a reusable one made of metal or bamboo. It's a small change that can make a big impact.

  2. Use a Reusable Drinks Bottle

Instead of buying drinks in plastic bottles, bring your own water bottle from home. You'll save money and help keep plastic out of the ocean.

  3. Bring your own Bag

Next time you go shopping with your grown-ups, bring a reusable bag instead of using a plastic one. You can find lots of fun and colourful bags to carry your stuff in. We even have an article on how to make one from an old t-shirt! Check it our here

  4. Pack Waste-Free Lunches

Ask your grown-ups to pack your lunch in reusable containers instead of plastic bags or wrap. You can use cool lunchboxes or snack containers made of metal or silicone.

  5. Recycle and Reuse

Be a recycling superstar by sorting your trash into recyclables like paper, cardboard, and some types of plastic. You can also reuse things like jars and containers instead of throwing them away.

These simple acts will reduce your plastic waste - and help protect our oceans. And if you share these tips with your friends we will be able to have an even greater impact!
